VirtualEyez 1.005 Now Available

This is our first app that runs CoreImage over our virtual camera driver and we made some changes in this new version to reduce frame tearing in the virtual-camera clients. If you see tearing, it could be an OpenGL driver issue. Either way, let us know.

QuickTime and Cameras

It seems that QuickTime has a problem recognizing 1+1 installed camera drivers. Once you hit three or more, all the camera apps seem to recognize them.

For example, if you have a new Macbook and you run VirtualEyez for the first time, Quicky will not see the VirtualEyez camera driver. However, if you download and run CamCamX, Quicky will then recognize all three available camera inputs: Built-in iSight, Virtualize and CamCamX.

This is a bit confusing, but you'll only ever see this problem once.

VirtualEyez - 1.004 Now Available!

We had a rather embarassing bug in the 1.000 release of VirtualEyez. It seems the virtual camera driver was configured to load only into our own applications (DotMatrix, Q@mera, & CamCamX). While that was fine for our 'everything bundle' customers, the rest of the world was out of luck.

Check out the latest version tested with Skype and other 3rd party camera apps.
